2022-2023

We, the staff, parents, and students of Yokayo Elementary School believe that all our decisions should focus on student learning. We believe in developing a rigorous curriculum that challenges and enables all students to be successful. We believe that education is a combined effort and commitment between school, families, and community. In order to provide a quality education, we must share in the responsibilities that cultivate student achievement. We believe in high academic standards and the social-emotional growth of all students.

Yokayo Elementary School Gets Gold PBIS Recognition!! Only School In UUSD to Receive this Recognition!

Yokayo Elementary was recognized by the California PBIS Coalition for successful PBIS implementation at the GOLD level. This recognition reflects excellence in the implementation of the core features of PBIS. PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. When implemented with fidelity, PBIS improves social emotional competence, academic success, and school climate. It is a way to create positive, predictable, equitable and safe learning environments where everyone thrives. Yokayo believes strongly in the benefits of running a PBIS school and we are honored to have received this recognition.
